Corvette C3 Rear Tail Light Wiring

General Information

There is nothing unusual or hard about the wiring. Simple wiring tools, reasonable electrical knowledge and good practice will suffice. The rear of the car needs to be elevated. It took about an hour to do all the wiring.

Optional Items

I decided to wire for four stop/turn & tail (STT) and two backup lights. Of course all six lamps cannot be used at the same time. This was done to allow the flexibilty having either two tail lights plus two backups or four taillights.

Weather Pack connectors were installed between the original wiring and the pigtails. This is makes it easy to remove the pigtails that aren't being used.

Split loom was added over all the wires for extra protection.

The Layout

The wiring on the back of the 82 was straight forward. The below drawing gives color codes and wire connections. The optional Weather Pack connectors are not shown here.
